LIVE AND
LET LIVE
Minimum government, maximum freedom. Your machine, your init, your call β and nobody's permission required. Don't tread on my packages. π½
β The Libertarian Movement β
Freedom is the default. It's the belief that your life is yours β your choices, your property, your speech, your software. Government's job is to protect rights, not manage lives. The Libertarian movement says: live and let live, and keep your hands off my repos.
Self-Ownership
You own your machine, your data, and your choices β down to the last byte. Nobody else does.
Minimum Government
No telemetry, no phone-home, no corporate overlords. Software that gets out of your way.
Right to Bear Forks
The right to fork shall not be infringed. Every distro keeps and bears its own repositories.
Live and Let Live
Every desktop environment is welcome. Freedom means choice β for you, not from you.
Now β take that energy. Point it at the kernel. π§
That's what OliverOS is. Live and Let Live for the open-source faithful.
β What Is OliverOS? β
Live and let live. Your life, your init, your choice β nobody's permission required.β The OliverOS Pledge
OliverOS β Live and Let Live is the movement inside the movement. Linux is the greatest operating system ever built: the kernel that powers the internet, the servers of America, the cloud, the phone in your pocket, the rocket on the pad. It was born free, built by patriots of the open source, one commit at a time. But somewhere along the way, the movement lost its way. Bloat crept in. Corporate overlords arrived. Telemetry happened. It's time to take our kernel back β and hand it to you, fully, forever.
Fully Yours
No walled gardens, no license traps. If you can run it, you own it.
Free Markets of Software
Choose your packages, your mirrors, your init β competition keeps everything honest.
No Overlords
No mandatory updates, no surveillance, no vendor lock-in. Just you and your machine.
Your Compass
Defaults are suggestions. You decide what your system does, when, and how.
